FRX Polymers wins Flanders Cleantech Award
On the occasion of the VITO i-SUP2016 event, FCA and FIT jointly organised the “Flanders Cleantech Internationalisation Awards”. This contest rewards Flemish cleantech SMEs which, because of their sustainable innovations, have the greatest impact on sustainable development abroad.
The award covers three categories: energy, materials, and chemistry and environment. The selection process focuses on international impact in terms of sustainability, international breakthrough of their cleantech business and future growth opportunities.
Eventually, three finalists are selected in each of the three categories. The audience present at the award ceremony evening selected the Antwerp-based FRX Polymers from the nominees in the Materials category.
FRX Polymers produces non-halogenated flame retardants. The technology is protected by an extensive arsenal of worldwide patents. This allows FRX to manufacture its products on a commercial scale in its new, state-of-the-art plant in Antwerp, which is fitted out to double the current capacity within the next 18 to 24 months.
