Online system to monitor hospital patients at home

Byteflies, an Antwerp-based scale-up, was working on "remote medical monitoring" by developing sensor technology for healthcare. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the aim was to return hospital patients sooner home under remote medical supervision. Byteflies developed a kit with simple equipment to measure accurate information on breathing, temperature, oxygen saturation and heart rate. About 600 patients could be monitored at home, lowering the pressure on hospital staff. Initially targeting COVID-19 patients, this technology can be extended to telemonitoring other chronically ill patients.

Byteflies has also entered the export market with this Sensor Dot Technology.
