Low-cost contact tracing wearable for events in covid times

Rombit, an Antwerp-based tech company, with expertise in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT), already scored on the international market with wearables to ensure social distancing and contact tracing in the industry. The company started with research of technology to develop lower-cost bracelets for the event sector that could be used with large, dense crowds to enable contact tracing.

An affordable application to ensure proper contact tracing was developed, building further on the Romware Platform. The concept was developed with the sports and events sector in mind. A succesful test with 400 students in an Antwerp school showed that the Romware Platform gave good results for contact tracing and could be used to restart events safely.
