- Antwerp XL brings the breakbulk community together
With 15 million tonnes of general cargo per year, Antwerp is the European leader. Antwerp is taking this pioneering role further by organising the Antwerp XL exhibition. During this three-day congress, Antwerp knows it will attract breakbulk professionals from the global supply chain with an attractive technology and innovation programme.
Specialists will be bringing their innovative applications, experts will tackle issues that must be solved within the sector, and participants will be immersed in new trends and market forecasts. One of the attractions at Antwerp XL is the innovation start-up zone. Debates with expert panels offer insight into the future of breakbulk; they will also attempt to answer questions such as, “How will smart technologies and new methods of collaboration shape tomorrow's ports?” Between 7-9 May, Antwerp acts as THE hotspot for shipping companies, shipping agents and freight forwarders to meet with leading players in the industry.
It is no surprise that the breakbulk community has chosen Antwerp. In addition to being the second largest container port in Europe, the port of Antwerp is also a home port for general cargo. Steel, cars, fruit, etc. are just a few examples of general cargo that are shipped via the port of Antwerp. Not one single shipment is identical, therefore, breakbulk requires a product-specific approach. With its “can do” mentality, coupled with the extensive experience of the many service providers, the port of Antwerp ships the most diverse general cargo loads to all corners of the world while maintaining a close watch on quality.
