The first inclusive AI Styling & Sizing Advisor for fashion e-commerce

Fashion ecommerce has complex challenges. Fashion companies struggle online with low conversion rates, low customer retention and high return rates. Competition for online consumer attention is fierce.

Contour Lab and Shavatar have partnered to launch their AI Styling & Sizing Advisor, an innovation that provides a comprehensive, personalised online shopping experience. Shoppers are guided in a unique way to find the right clothes as well as the right size for any body type. The technology is innovative, using image recognition and machine learning to respond to the growing demand from the fashion industry for a combined solution that makes the online user experience even more personal.

The project the city supported:

In current solutions, Contour Lab and Shavatar use Artificial Intelligence (mainly regression methods). In this development project, they will add recognition and machine learning to add collection data (both style fits and size) to analyse and correctly match consumers' body types. As this AI methodology is scaled up based on larger data sets, in a second phase they may also offer it to multibrand platforms.

After successfully completing some Belgian use cases, they want to roll out this concept to the European market, which has around 143,000 fashion webshops.

They want to offer the integrated solution to fashion retailers as a SAAS product where a one-off implementation fee will be charged in addition to an annual licence for ongoing use of the application.
