Lynqo, a startup in Dunden, is developing a software platform that provides OR teams with an extra set of eyes during surgeries. By tracking the use of surgical instruments and materials in real time, the system assists healthcare providers with critical checks, administrative tasks, and logistical processes in and around the operating room. The technology forms the basis for a wide range of applications that support healthcare providers and enable hospitals to operate more efficiently. With support from the city, the company is collaborating with Antwerp hospitals to develop and validate one of these applications: a data-driven methodology for optimizing surgical instrument sets. By tailoring the sets to actual instrument usage during surgeries, Lynqo helps hospitals reduce the workload on healthcare staff, lower instrument processing costs, and increase operating room efficiency.
